03/09/93 09:45 PM - PCB Freedom 1.50
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Perhaps the two biggest things that you can look forward to with the
next release of PCB Freedom (v.1.50) are... 1) File downloading of up
to 10 files per run, and 2) tighter integration between GHOST BBS and
PCB Freedom.
Freedom 1.50 will include the ability to specify a list of up to 10
files which will be downloaded after your next mail run. I am having
difficulty with getting PKUnZIP to reliably work from PCP/Win, in order
to get at the NEWFILES.DAT in a QWK, and thus, build a database of
files for each system, however, if I can't get that to operate
reliably, at the least, you will be able to enter the files manually in
the "get Files" dialog.
Beyond this, GHOST BBS and PCB Freedom can be set up to operate
together. As example, GHOSt can be set to start at say 11 PM, and run
until 7 AM. At 7 AM, it will shut itself down, and start Freedom,
telling it to immediately dial you list of systems for mail. Once the
mail runs are complete, Freedom will shut itself down, and GHOST can
optionally start back up again.
This means that you can automate the complete operation of GHOST BBS,
and Freedom so that they will work as if they are a single application.
GHOST will run any secondary application which is set up properly to
accept the parameters passed it by GHOST, but for obvious reasons, I
prefer to use Freedom as the example <G>.
